Sprint-locked phones make Oculus almost impossible to use
The Oculus Gear VR is a frustrating and disappointing experience for users with Sprint phones, as Sprint has installed Facebook code that makes it almost impossible to load the Oculus software. Even for IT professionals, it takes days to get the software up and running, and the device frequently fails to recognize that the Gear VR software is already installed. While there is an initial "wow factor" to the device, it falls short for those who want to use it for virtual tours or flying videos, as the tech is not up to par and the pictures are grainy and start and stop frequently. Overall, the Oculus Gear VR is not worth the time or money, and users should not waste their efforts on trying to make it work.
