I did do some other research too and the more I researched, the more I started to like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
I don't like bulky watches and the Watch 4 was more slender than the Classic.
I have been using the new firmware and started wearing my watch 24/7.
To top it off, the elliptical interface now actually counts my steps on the elliptical!
Then there is the battery life issue, it has none.
The watch seems to be accurate in all the biometrics it takes and the mapping of walks/runs are accurate.
Overall, this is a very good smart watch with a user nice interface.
Unless fixed, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is a much better bet for most consumers.
Lastly, all of the Galaxy Watch 4 color variants (even the silver ones) have a painted body that appears to be susceptible to chipping around the glass.
The black bezel is not touch-sensitive, and it makes the experience unreliable unless you adapt to it.
Unfortunately, despite having a top-rate fitness app, their products, and now their customer service, are simply lagging.
It is apparent from the changes in Samsung Health that they are moving more towards a walled-garden approach like Apple.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is the most impressive watch I've ever owned. The most recent firmware update has resolved all of my difficulties with this watch (R870XX...M1EVB4 circa Feb 25th, 2022). I've been using the latest firmware for a while now. At work, I use it to check notifications, respond to messages, and manage my music. The Bixby button can't be reprogrammed to Google Assistant, but it can be turned off (not remapped) The inability to reprogram the Samsung Pay button is another issue. By default, pressing and holding the bottom button launches Samsung Pay. You won't need to open Google Pay to pay anyplace once you've correctly installed and set up Google Pay (and made it your default payment option). If you want to use a different card, go to your applications and open Google Pay, or set it to open with a double tap of the top button (that action can be programmed to anything). I'm hoping Samsung continues to give updates based on community feedback while the Galaxy Watch4 is still relatively new. And by now, I hope you've read through my entire review and are ready to place your order. Stop second-guessing yourself; this watch is, in my opinion, the greatest currently available.

With the current firmware, the Galaxy Watch 4's bezel is absolutely not touch-sensitive.
The Galaxy Watch 4's bezel is not touch-sensitive with the current firmware. It does nothing till your finger brushes up against the actual screen region. Samsung has failed to state unequivocally that Google Assistant will be available on the Watch 4 series. The rubber watchband is awful, and after a short time wearing it, I realized I didn't want to battle with it every time I put it on. And where are all the fantastic apps I keep hearing about with Wear OS 3? It's not a big concern; Tizen and Wear 3 both offer all of the apps I need or desire; nevertheless, claiming that the app store is so much bigger when there isn't anything remarkable isn't a selling factor for me. So I'm giving it two stars since I'm expecting it'll last as long as my old Samsung watches, and 0 stars for Wear OS3 and the bracelet. It's not my fault. It was a mistake to purchase the Galaxy Watch 4 44 mm, as it lacks a physical rotating bezel. The bezel it does have is terrible; I have to twist myself to get it to move, and once it does, it's difficult to get it to stop on the app I want to use. I'm not going to use it anymore because it's not the only way to go to the apps.
